Sunday Morning Services

First Sunday of the month

08.15 Quiet Communion

The focus of the service is 'the meal that Jesus left us' - sharing bread and wine, the body and blood of Christ.  There is no singing but there is opportunity to listen to the Bible, to reflect and to pray, guided by Church of England liturgy (words and actions) from Common Worship.

See the Holy Communion page for further information.

10.00 Family Service

This service is designed for those less familiar with traditional church although it is also enjoyed by those who have attended church all their lives.

There are craft activities available from 09.45am which are referred to in the main service.  Children, young people and adults spend time together singing, praying, learning from the Bible and listening to one another around a specific theme.  We get to know members of the congregation through This Time Tomorrow, when individuals can tell us about their life on Monday morning – and often the rest of the week.

Other Sunday mornings (2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th Sunday of the month)

10.00 Holy Communion

This is a traditional setting of the service using the Church of England’s Common Worship liturgy.  Congregational singing is accompanied by music on a CD.  There are groups for children aged 3 – 8 and 8+ while other members of the congregation listen to talks exploring the Bible and daily life.   We usually follow the church calendar although there are occasional themed Sundays.

See the Holy Communion Page for more information.

Following every 10.00 service

There is the opportunity for people to chat and get to know one another over tea, coffee, squash and biscuits or cake.  Hospitality is important to our church: food and drink play as significant a role in church life as in any other life!
